The First People Disability Network (FPDN) has partnered with Barkly Regional Arts (BRA) to assist them in their engagement of Aboriginal people with disability in the Barkly.

FPDN wish to engage Aboriginal people with a disability through art. Art is the vehicle for FPDN to get a better understanding of the services a person with disability may need and therefore to be able to appropriately assist them with the National Disability Insurance Scheme.

‘Talking Pictures’ is to develop a resource booklet, of art and narratives from Aboriginal people with disability, which assists in telling their story. This culturally appropriate initiative can be a tool for Aboriginal people with disability in linking with the National Disability Insurance Scheme. The outcome will be an exhibition of the artwork and a resource booklet filled with the art and narratives of the disability participants.
