Job Vacancy: Regional Arts Field Officer

Barkly Regional Arts (BRA) is the regional hub for the arts program delivery in the Barkly region of the Northern Territory. We are seeking a Visual Arts Outreach Program (VAOP) Field Officer for our office, based in Tennant Creek NT.

As VAOP Field Officer at BRA, the position will also collaborate with BRA management to source funding, develop program delivery strategies, and embed reporting and evaluation tools into the program.

The objectives of this position are to coordinate the VAOP Artists of the Barkly program to artists groups in the Barkly region, including the communities: of Mungkarta, Mangalawurru, Elliott, Canteen Creek & Epenarra – with potential to grow to other communities as requested and viable.


Essential Criteria 

  1. Demonstrated program management experience
  2. Demonstrated ability to train and mentor Aboriginal artists and arts workers in remote communities
  3. Experience in a cross-cultural environment in remote Australia or elsewhere.
  4. Proven experience in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with stakeholders.
  5. Ability to multitask and maintain multiple tasks, projects or demands, and deliver these on time and within set budget.
