Heather has depicted a busy sunset at Alroy Downs Station. The work is a recording of what Heather saw as a child growing up at Alroy Downs where she was born in 1977. It is full of stories. Across the bottom of the painting bullocky are going home for the evening, leaving scat in their path. At the bore a kangaroo is minding his own business while drinking the water and a goanna feasts on ants nesting in an old oil drum, behind them more bullocky are running to the trough for water. Meanwhile, a workman is checking on the windmill while another to the left feeds a bullocky a sweet treat which the animal is eagerly drooling over. A third workman is yelling out to the bullocky, in attempt to move them along. To the right, the station manger returns home to his wife and kids, who are tending the garden. Far in the background among trees, bush turkey and ant pits, a family of echidnas wanders by and a dingo slyly follows a group of emus who have no idea he is there.
