Barkly Regional Arts, Artback NT and Arts Victoria are proud to present STICKS STONES BROKEN BONES.. Using bits of simple cardboard, rubbish and everyday items, Jeff Achtem creates an imaginative and comical universe with his shadow puppets.

Sticks Stones Broken Bones presents a playful world of shadow puppetry, appearing as live cartoons, full of odd-ball characters and surreal events. The screen comes alive with flying Ninjas, sneaky chickens and hilarious brain surgery. It’s a visual feast for the imagination!

With all of the puppetry performed in front of the screen, the audience is invited to witness each moment of the visual trickery, and to see the transformation from household junk into shadow puppet melodramas. Come and play in the dark!

“One of the most spellbinding moments of puppet theatre that I have ever encountered.” – The Stage (UK)
