Volunteering for the Desert Harmony Festival
The Desert Harmony Festival provides an opportunity for locals from the Barkly, and travelers from far away, who are keen to share their time and skills and learn a whole set of new skills to apply to join the festival team and become part of a unique outback community festival experience.
Volunteers fulfill a range of important roles in a number of areas including:
- Entry gate & ticketing
- Festival shop
- Artist/ performer / crew support for performances, and workshops
- Festival spaces support including cultural activities, youth space, community arts, Art Exhibition
- Pre-festival set up and post festival pack-down
- Community arts activities
- General assistance as required
The many benefits of volunteering at Desert Harmony Festival include: your very own limited edition Desert Harmony Festival t-shirt, the opportunity to meet local people and be welcomed into the community, being on the inside and supporting an amazing community event…. as well as meals and free camping 🙂
Important Information about Volunteering with consideration for COVID19
Due to COVID -19 restrictions the format of the 2020 Desert Harmony Festival will be modified and a program of community activities will be delivered during the period from May – July.
This program will culminate in an online showcase which will be launched on the festival website across the weekend 31 July – 2 August. In this context the opportunities for volunteering are restricted to existing local engagement with the community groups involved in the festival program. However, there will be many opportunities to volunteer at next year’s festival so please keep in touch with us!
