Desert Harmony Festival 2025- That’s a Wrap!

Published On: August 19th, 2025Categories: Festival

We’re still buzzing from four incredible days of music, dance, workshops, and connection at Desert Harmony Festival 2025.

From the opening night’s Welcome to Country and bush tucker cook-up, to traditional and cultural dances from across the Barkly, and performances that had the crowd on their feet, the festival was alive with colour, rhythm, and community spirit.

Across the weekend, festival-goers explored a packed program of events — including hands-on workshops like boomerang carving with Warumungu master carver Joseph Williams Jangarrayi (men only), jewellery making with Lorraine Gibson, and a songwriting session with country music legend Troy Cassar-Daley, supported by APRA AMCOS’ National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Music Office. Jerry Kelly’s popular Nursery Tour brought people up close to the Barkly’s native plants and their many uses, while Drag Storytime with Constantina Bush lit up the Tennant Creek Public Library with laughter, love, and inclusivity.

Music lovers were spoiled for choice, with standout sets from DEVAURA, Bousta, Katanga Junior, Desert Melody Makers, Sandridge Band, Arlywarre Desert Reggae, and many more. The Purkiss Reserve AFL Fun Day brought sport, boomerang throwing, and live music together in a big community celebration, and we even transformed the Tennant Creek High School Gym into a stage for the breathtaking aerial performance Come to the Edge by Dusty Feet Dance Collective.

This year, we welcomed around 5,000 people to the festival, with more than half joining us on the final day. It’s proof of just how powerful it is when we come together to celebrate culture, creativity, and each other.

Thank you to the amazing artists, volunteers, crew, sponsors, and—most importantly—you, the community, for bringing so much energy and heart to Desert Harmony 2025.

We’ve pulled together some of our favourite highlights and photos from the weekend—scroll through and relive the magic!

📅 Save the date for 2026 – we’ll be back with more music, art, and stories next year.
