Tennant Creek- The Hub of Spectacular Art

In the world of contemporary art, a collective of elderly Aboriginal women from the Northern Territory’s Barkly region have been making an impact.

The elderly women have become artists in retirement, attending the Barkly Regional Arts space in Tennant Creek where they can socialise and paint.

With diverse abilities some aren’t able to share their story through a traditional interview. They’ve instead set down their culture in paint and shared their stories through a spokesperson, who has been given authority to speak on their behalf.
